WHAT WE DO

The Port Angeles Waterfront District is following Elevate PA’s 5 Year Strategic Action Plan to revitalize the District.

We also have a contract with the City of Port Angeles to provide services to the Parking and Business Improvement Area.

We have four committees meeting to accomplish the goals of Elevate PA and provide services to the District.

In 2025, our Committee’s are focusing on the following goals:

Authentic Promotion Committee

Marketing and Promotion

-This group creates monthly promotions in our Waterfront District, as well as fun events. Promotions such as SupPort Angeles, For the Love of PA, and events such as Second Saturday Art Walk, Fall Crawl, Downtown Trick or Treat and Hometown Holidays.

West by Northwest Mural Festival

-Five new murals are coming to the Waterfront District this year. The West by Northwest Mural Festival will be taking place from April 24th to April 27th this year.

Lot B Redevelopment Committee

-Work on the “Waterfront Outdoor Recreation Center” project in Lot B.

Welcoming Design Committee

Downtown Beautification

-Spring Weeding Crew. The return of hanging flower baskets. Big Spring Spruce Up on 5/3. Winter Lights.

Welcoming Vista Committee

-Manage 10-year plan to restore the Welcoming Vista bluff and the view at Haynes Viewpoint Park.

Welcoming Committee

-District style and best practices guide for new and prospective business operators.

Economic Vitality Committee

Washington Main Street Application

-In February 2025 we became a Washington Main Street Affiliate. We are applying to become a Washington Main Street Designated Community in 2025. This will bring many tax benefits to our District and greater community.

Government Affairs Committee

-We are monitoring policy at City, County and State level and providing comments representing our Members.

Building and Storefront Vacancy Mitigation Committee

-We will be making a list of vacant buildings and storefronts in the Waterfront District. We will determine why the spaces are vacant and then strategize on how to change the status quo.

-We will then conduct a district service/product/attraction gap analysis.

Sustainable Design Committee

Grants Committee

-We are continuing to find grants to fund our organization.

PBIA Expansion Committee

-We are exploring the option of expanding the Parking Business Improvement Area boundaries east to Peabody, west to Valley and south to 2nd Street.
